late night: Trish Keenan, Broadcast Singer, Dies From Pneumonia

Trish Keenan, singer of electronic pop duo "Broadcast", passed away today from complications of pneumonia after fighting the illness for two weeks in intensive care. British media reports she contracted Swine flu while on tour.

Formed in 1995, Broadcast released four albums and a string of EPs on Warp Records. Warp records released this statement earlier today: "This is an untimely tragic loss and we will miss Trish dearly - a unique voice, an extraordinary talent and a beautiful human being. Rest in Peace,"

video of the day: Undercity.

I just had to share this amazing documentary I just watched on Vimeo:

"Undercity", made by Andrew Wonder, takes us on a journey through parts
of New York City that are forbidden to the general public. No permits
were granted here either as we follow urban historian and photographer
Steve Duncan in what is one of the best documentaries I've seen in a while.

(running time:28 minutes)
